AMPLIFY Credit Union has been serving the Austin area and beyond since 1967.  Our heritage as IBM Texas Employees Federal Credit Union has led us to look to technology to help our members bank less and live more.

 

Apps are the way to go when it comes to providing service on the fly, and Amplify wants to provide cutting-edge apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, and others. 

To help us achieve this goal, we are currently seeking qualified individuals for  a full-time SOFTWARE DEVELOPER position in Austin, TX.

 


THE ROLE     

The primary function of the Software Developer is to code, test, debug, configure and document application systems and/or data warehouse development solutions. The Software Developer will also work with other application developers to design and deploy technical solutions to Amplify, both internally (data warehouse business intelligence) and externally (website consultation and mobile applications).

Duties:

THE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Works with cross-functional team members to develop system and software designs, as well as recommend technical solutions to business issues and/or system issues
  • Provides ongoing evaluation of software solutions and capabilities to ensure alignment with business objectives and identify areas of risk, while monitoring the current environment, potential improvement areas, and the financial implications of those recommendations
  • Applies generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation
  • Works with Director of Software Development to estimate scope, duration, and risks associated with system development associated with the Software solutions, Data Warehouse, resolving system issues, and determining and communicating tool and project implementation efforts
  • Performs regression testing and impact analysis of changes to environment related to software development efforts
  • Provides ongoing support of software solutions and application processes including bug fixing and performance improvement 
  • Adheres to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) set forth by the Director of Software Development
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or Information Technology or related field required; 5+ years of hands on experience in software development including 3+ years of experience in: 

           Application development using (C#, Java, J2ee or C++)

           Javascript and HTML 4 and higher

           Working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

           SQL programming with Microsoft SQL 2005/2008;

           SQL Server and/or Oracle DBMS; and

           Knowledge of Objective-C is a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Microsoft, Oracle, SQL Server, PMP, or other professional certifications preferred.

Software & Equipment Requirements 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of C# Object Oriented Programming as well as SQL Server development technologies, including Transact SQL (T-SQL), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes.

           Experience working both independently with minimal supervision and in a team oriented collaborative environment

RELOCATION
No relocation assistance is offered with this position.  Candidates located outside Austin must be willing to relocate themselves.
